Monaco vice president, Vadim Vasilyev, revealed that it actually wants Martial hold one more season.
But, bid MU was impossible to resist. Vasilyev also praised the performance of the technical staff when deciding to buy Martial Monaco two seasons ago.
"We hope to keep him for one more season, but their bid was outstanding," said Vasilyev as reported by the BBC.
"Even if the transfer is not predictable, it proves the quality from work of our engineering staff and we made the right decision to recruit him two years ago."
"We wish the best for the rest of his career," he added.
