Leave Manchester United, Jonny Evans Join West Brom

West Bromwich - Jonny Evans put an end to his career with Manchester United. The Northern Ireland defender leave Old Trafford and join West Bromwich Albion.

Evans is a graduate of the Manchester United academy made his debut for the 'Red Devils' in 2007. Since then, he has appeared 198 times in all competitions and won six trophies.

This season, Evans no longer be the main choice of Louis van Gaal at the defensive line. He was unable to compete with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, and Marcos Rojo.


Evans signed a contract a duration four years with West Brom. However, no mention of how many the transfer value to be paid by West Brom for the 27-year-old defender.

"I hope to bring Albion to crawl up in the league. It is a new challenge that I am looking forward to. I already know some of the players and I talked with some of them, highly recommend this club," said Evans on West Brom's official website.

Evans arrival was greeted enthusiastically by West Brom manager Tony Pulis. Evans believes he will be an important player for The Baggies.

"This is a great signings for the club. Jonny brings a lot of experience and will be an important player for us, he is a player that I have observed for some time. We're glad he joined," said Pulis.
