Can Target in Secondly Season : More Goals, More Assist |
Glasgow - Emre Can confessed his English skills have improved since joining Liverpool. However, he also wants to improve its performance on the field, especially for scoring affair and give assists.
Can, who recruited Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen last year, contributing one goal and one assist in 31 appearances in the Premier League last season. In the last season, the German footballer is often installed in the back line.
However, manager Brendan Rodgers recently played Can as a midfielder. In the four official games already passed Liverpool this season, twice Can be a starter and twice came on as a substitute.
Can realizes that he has to work harder in order to become the primary choice Rodgers. The reason, he must compete with other like quarterback-midfielder Jordan Henderson, Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and James Milner.
According to Can, he should be more involved in the attack and began diligently scoring or giving assists.
"I think the internal competition for the position of good for the team. I'm ready to assume greater responsibility because I am entering my second season," Can said as quoted by Reuters.
"My English improved and I've matured as a player," he added.
"Playing in midfield means you have to assume greater responsibility. That means I want to score more goals and help the team get the results," said 21-year-old players.
"I want more action in attack and I know I can do better in that respect. I want much better in scoring and giving assists," said Can.
Liverpool currently sit in seventh place Premier League standings after winning seven points in four games. On this weekend, the Reds will face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
