Liverpool squad this season was the worst in a Few Last Season |
Rate it out from Harry Redknapp, the man who had handled a number of Premier League clubs, after seeing the appearance of Liverpool at the start of the league's four games.
After winning the first two games 1-0, over Stoke City and Bournemouth, Liverpool failed to win the full poin in the next two games after playing a 0-0 draw with Arsenal and a 0-3 defeat from West Ham United at home.
According to Redknapp, Liverpool's performance was not that good and inclined like the bottom club, not as teams compete at the top.
The departure of a number of stars in the 2-3 last season as Jamie Carragher, Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling, said to have contributed in weakening the Liverpool squad. No wonder Redknapp also mentioned Liverpool at this time was the worst he had ever seen.
"I did not candidate Liverpool. I think Liverpool today is the worst team I have seen in the last few seasons. They look mediocre. They were lucky to get a point," said Redknapp was quoted as saying by the Telegraph.
"They should lose from Bournemouth, they helped a beautiful goal when winning at Stoke. Okay, they did play well in the first half against Arsenal," he continued.
"I think they could be going to finish top five. I did not candidate Liverpool this season. However, they could win the league"
"They lost their leader, Steven Gerrard. Players who are exceptional. They lost Jamie Carragher previous season. They lost the character."
"Look at the two center-backs who played on Saturday (Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel). Left (Joe Gomez) was a great young players who could not use his left foot, but played on the left side."
"He is a fantastic talent, stronger, faster. But what will be given on the left side? He's on the wrong side. To me, they look very bad. I'm sorry, I can not candidate Liverpool," he concluded.
