London - Arsenal will lose Danny Welbeck in a longer time. Welbeck has just undergone knee surgery and is expected to be sidelined for several months.
Welbeck last played in the game against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium last April. Afterward, he had to pull over because of a problem in his left knee.
Welbeck actually hoping to recover without having to up the operating table. However, it was not possible.
Welbeck also have had surgery. The 24-year-old striker is expected to be absent in a few months.
"Danny Welbeck has had surgery on his left knee after he was able to increase the portion in the rehabilitation program," wrote Arsenal in a statement.
"Throughout the summer, he has been trying to recover from injuries obtained at the end of April."
"He had been expected to avoid surgery. However, after he increases the portion of his training, cartilage injury is not responding as expected. In the last week, it was decided that he would be operated on by a famous specialist."
"Danny is expected to be sidelined for several months and everyone at Arsenal wish the best for him."
