Manchester - Wilfried Bony was disappointed only be a backup when Manchester City visit to Arsenal. According to him, he more than deserves to be the starter than Sergio Aguero who had just returned from injury.
During Aguero sidelined due to injury in the game against Southampton, Bony be the choice of Manuel Pellegrini to become a striker. Ivory Coast striker appeared as a starter in three of four games City in all competitions and scored three goals.
However Bony start the match at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday (22/12), on the bench. To fill the front lines City, Pellegrini opted to play Aguero. It was a comeback Aguero after aside for almost three weeks because of injury.
In the end, Aguero who has difficulty showing his best performances were pulled out in the 63rd minute and was replaced by Bony. City themselves end the game with a 1-2 defeat of from the Gunners.
Bony was disappointed not selected by Pellegrini to be a starter in the match. Bony rate him more fit than Aguero who is recovering from injury.
"I'm disappointed I did not become a starter," Bony said as quoted by Soccerway. "I'm not the coach. The coach did what he thought was best for the team. He just had to choose 11 players."
"But I think I deserve to play, Aguero back from injury. He has not played for several weeks."
Bony said he would talk with the situation related Pellegrini. However the 27-year-old striker was ready to continue to work hard to help the team.
"My gut feeling is that I will be discussing this with the manager. I will continue to work hard, prepare well and then depending on the coach who he is down," said Bony.
"When I get in I just tried to do my best to score goals or provide assists to help the team win," he added.
